During our active seasons, we offer 5 divisions of baseball:
Beginner T-Ball - League Age 4-5
- Players begin to learn about baseball - how to hold the bat, how to catch a ball, how to throw a ball and an overview of the game of baseball
- We do not keep score in Beginner T-Ball and every player is on the field during defense and every players gets to bat
- Beginner T-Ball is fun as well as a learning experience
Advanced T-Ball - League Age 5-6
- Players are continuing to learn about baseball - they are learning about "outs" and throwing to first base
- Some coaches may choose to gently pitch the ball to players prior to using the tee
- Players are beginning to learn more about the various positions
- We do not keep score in Advanced T-Ball
Coach Pitch - League Age 7-8
- Players learn to hit from a coach pitching, or a machine pitching. In the beginning of the season, a tee can be used if a player is unable to hit from the coach/machine after 4 attempts
- Score is kept in Coach Pitch and outs are counted
- A suited up catcher is required in Coach Pitch
- Players begin more competitive play
Minors - League Age 9-10
- Players begin pitching
- A suited up catcher is required
- More competitive and players are learning about more advanced baseball skills
Majors - League Age 11-12
- This is the highest level of Little League baseball that Balcones Youth Sports offers
- Players are learning to steal bases and are playing by modified baseball rules
- In post-season play (spring season), this division is the one who can advance all the way to the Little League World SeriesHERE
